Formiche Set of 2 Sculptures

This playful set comprised of two ant-shaped sculptures – “formica” is the Italian for ant – is an ode to the underrated value and natural altruism of these little animals, here represented with unrivaled mastery. Both the larger (cm 75x45x41 H) and the smaller ant (cm 62x42x27 H) features bodies consisting of wooden spheres with a fire-burnt surface and of antennae, mouths, eyes, and legs handcrafted from burnished iron that is bent with fire and then protected with oil.
